September 2022 - This image was taken on 16 September 2022. It’s near the equinox and Lundy is a great barometer for this as the sun sets generally over the middle of the island when viewed from Woolacombe.
It’s always in my mind to take a picture with the sun surrounding the Lighthouse on Lundy at this time of year and in March and on this occasion it did after this picture was taken.
However, I loved this picture in particular because of the story that the sun was going to set over the lighthouse in a few minutes from this, but also if you look closely, there’s a couple of people looking tiny on Baggy Point. One on the side appears to be observing the sunset, the other at the bottom is fishing.
